To multiply any number by 5 quickly, use this trick:

  1. Divide the number by 2: For example, to multiply 18 by 5, first divide 18 by 2.

    • 18÷2=918 \div 2 = 9.
  2. Multiply the result by 10: Multiply the result from step 1 by 10.

    • 9×10=909 \times 10 = 90.

So, 18×5=9018 \times 5 = 90.

This method simplifies multiplication by 5 to a two-step process: dividing by 2 and then multiplying by 10.
